The Antlers Hotel, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been a historic symbol of the region’s hospitality and growth since its founding in 1883. Named after the abundant antelope and deer in the area, it was originally built by General William Jackson Palmer, the city’s founder, to welcome tourists and dignitaries to the stunning landscapes of Pikes Peak and the surrounding Rockies.

 

Designed by prominent architects Pease & Barber, the original hotel was an example of Victorian architecture with luxurious details that catered to the elite travelers of its time. Unfortunately, the hotel was destroyed by fire in 1898, but it was rebuilt in 1901, continuing its legacy as a centerpiece of Colorado Springs' development. The Antlers has undergone several renovations and rebuilds throughout its long history, yet it remains a symbol of the city’s resilience and charm.
