The Kenyatta International Convention Centre, rising in the heart of Nairobi, Kenya, has been a symbol of the nation’s growth, unity, and global outlook since its completion in 1973. Its soaring tower and distinctive cylindrical shape have hosted countless international gatherings, reflecting Kenya’s emergence onto the world stage.
Designed by Norwegian architect Karl Henrik Nøstvik and constructed under the direction of the Kenyan government, the KICC blends elements of modernist architecture with African cultural motifs, notably evoking the traditional African hut. Its round structure, open courtyard, and rooftop helipad embody both functionality and the spirit of innovation.
Over the decades, the Kenyatta International Convention Centre has remained a vital hub for diplomacy, trade, and cultural exchange, standing proudly as an enduring emblem of Kenya’s progress and its place in the global community.
